Dölauer Heide - Nature Trail I

The Nature Trail I was established in 1932 and has been extended several times, most recently in 2007/08. It stretches over 4.8 kilometres through the urban forest of Halle, which has been designated as a protected landscape area since 1952. White stones with red numbers mark the trail objects, supplemented by information boards. The route is marked by red bars on a white background and can also be explored in sections. A second trail connects to the first at the Heidebahnhof station.

Trail start: On the Waldkater road (dt. Straße Waldkater) approx. 70 m after the intersection, named after the same-named restaurant

Please note: Unfortunately, the nature trail is not barrier-free! It is not suitable for prams or wheelchair users.

Dölauer Heide - Nature Trail II

Established in 2008, Nature Trail II complements the first trail and runs from Heidebahnhof to Heidebad Nietleben. Part of the route follows the historic Bergmannssteig, a former footpath used by miners between 1865 and 1936. Marked by two porphyry blocks, the trail offers a glimpse into the region's geological past. The lilac-coloured quartz porphyry, formed 295 million years ago, is a testament to the area's volcanic history. The trail runs primarily on quartz sand soils, which are covered by a thin layer of humus and glacial till.
